Group work that stays inside school systems

Students collaborate wherever it is easiest — usually on personal accounts nobody can see into. CollaboPoint gives classes and staff a shared workspace with roles, an activity log and no social features, and it is free to start.

Sound familiar?

If more than one of these lands, the tool sprawl is costing you more than the subscriptions do.

  • Group projects happen on personal accounts, so staff have no visibility and nothing survives the end of term.
  • A class call cuts off after 40 minutes on the free tier of a meetings tool.
  • Every new tool means another procurement conversation and another data-protection review.
  • Departments each pick a different app, so nothing is consistent across the institution.

What you get on day one

Everything below works today. What doesn't, we list further down.

Shared class workspaces

A workspace per class, project or department, with documents, sheets and slides that several students can edit at once.

Roles and guest access

Owner, admin, member and guest roles, so a student can be given access to one workspace without seeing anything else.

Group calls and screen share

Group video with screen sharing for remote sessions and tutorials. Paid plans remove the free tier’s 5-participant and 40-minute limits.

Activity log

Admin-readable record of who accessed and changed what within a workspace.

MFA on every plan

TOTP and email one-time codes available to all accounts, not reserved for a higher tier.

Free to pilot

The free plan needs no card and does not expire, so a single class can trial it without a purchase order.

What a 25-person team pays

Same work, two bills. Published list prices, not our estimates.

What we don't have yet

You would find these in a procurement review anyway. Here they are up front, with where each one stands.

Education pricing & site licences

Not offered

Institutions pay standard per-seat pricing today. If you need volume or term-licence terms, talk to us — we would rather negotiate than lose you to a spreadsheet.

FERPA, COPPA & safeguarding review

Not started

No formal review has been carried out and we claim no compliance with them. We provide the technical building blocks — per-workspace data isolation, role-based access, audit logging, encryption, MFA — but if your institution requires that assurance before deployment, we are not there yet.

WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility audit

Planned Q4 2026

Not yet completed. This one matters for public-sector procurement, so we would rather flag it early than have it surface late in your process.

EU & UK data residency

Planned Q1 2027

Data is currently hosted on Google Cloud in the United States.

Questions

Is this safe for under-18 students?

There are no social feeds, public profiles or discovery features — a workspace is only visible to people invited to it, and roles limit what each person can see. That said, we have not completed a formal safeguarding or child-privacy audit, so the decision on age-appropriateness belongs with your data protection officer, and we are happy to answer their questions directly.

Are you FERPA compliant?

We do not claim FERPA compliance. We provide the technical building blocks — workspace-level data isolation, role-based access, audit logging, encryption at rest and in transit, MFA — but no formal review against FERPA has been carried out.

Can we run a pilot for one term?

Yes. Start on the free plan with a single class, or contact us about a longer pilot across several classes.

Where is student data stored?

On Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. EU and UK residency options are on the roadmap for Q1 2027, and we will say so plainly rather than imply otherwise.

Try it with your own team

The free plan is genuinely free — no card, no trial countdown. Invite a couple of colleagues and see whether it sticks.
